As water descends a single stack drainage system, negative pressure is formed. If interrupted, or if the water approaches a change of direction, the negative pressure can switch to a positive pressure – forcing the water back up the pipe. Terrain P.A.P.A. reduces positive pressure, while the Pleura Vent System regulates air pressure by acting as an air admittance valve.
